Nutrition Spotlight: Karie

Karie is PUSH511's July nutrition spotlight!

Karie has been working one-on-one with her PUSH511 nutrition coach, Rachel, for a little under half a year. As Rachel summarized:

"Karie had done many nutrition challenges in the past and always had great results but after doing them and struggling to keep up with the habits afterward, she realized having a coach for guidance and accountability was a good idea. She also wanted to gain more consistency with her habits and find a balance between maintaining these habits and still enjoying her social life and traveling. The physical results that Karie has gotten are amazing but more than that her mindset around food has also been amazing. I am so glad to be a part of her journey and can't wait to see what goals she achieves next!"

"Hi, my name is Karie Bowman and I help organizations transform their business operations by implementing financial systems. I am an accountant at heart but I work in IT consulting. I’ve done fad diets for as long as I can remember and, they did work but then I would always revert back to my old habits. I wanted to have some longer-term accountability to help me to build habits that would last longer than just a month or two.

"The biggest thing I learned is that managing your nutrition isn’t an 'all or nothing' approach, and the key is being consistent most of the time. If I want a treat or a drink, I have one and get back on track during the next meal."

When we asked Karie how her life has changed since she started working with a PUSH511 nutrition coach, she responded:

"I haven’t been as sick as much, I have more energy and feel more confident in my skin. I’ve seen improvements in the gym and even reached half-marathon times I haven’t seen in 4 years."

When we asked Karie to share one healthy habit that has helped her the most, she shared:

"I’ve replaced a significant amount of my alcohol with nonalcoholic drinks (wine and beer), which has helped me cut a significant amount of calories, allowed me to drink something in social situations, and gave me that feeling of having a drink without the alcohol (or calories)."
