CrossFit Member of the Month: April 2026

This month, we’re excited to highlight Michael as our Member of the Month!

For nearly a decade, Michael has been a steady and dedicated presence in our community. His consistency speaks volumes; he shows up, puts in the work, and leads by example day in and day out. Members like Michael are the foundation of what makes our gym so special. We’re proud to have you with us, Michael!

Let's get to know our April Member of the Month!

When did you start CrossFit? December 2019.

What's your fitness background? I’ve been doing CrossFit for many years, starting out on the Les Mills programming in New Jersey before moving to Baltimore and joining PUSH.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement? Burpees.

What’s your least favorite movement? Wall walks.

What do you do for work? I work for the Housing Authority for the City of Baltimore. My title is Executive VP, Chief Administrative Officer, and I manage the agency's real estate development projects, along with managing our Human Resources, Information Technology and the Housing Choice Voucher Program.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family. I’m originally from Chicago, Illinois. I'm happily married with two kids, ages 23 and 10 years and I enjoy traveling and eating great food!

Tell us something we don't know about you! I am an avid boater and spend the summers on my boat in Chicago, cruising in the Lake Michigan waters.

How has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym? Working out on a regular basis provides me with the energy to tackle the day to day issues of life, and provides me with a work/life balance which I feel good about.

What do you enjoy most about PUSH? I’d have to say the gym itself and the environment, especially the 4:50 am instructors (Amanda, Laura, and Sam) and team members whose energy on most days makes it seem like it's 4 pm! They are the best! I’m quiet mostly, but I enjoy the morning stories and the energy they bring to the class.

What tips would you offer someone who is just getting started with working out? Set a realistic weekly goal for your number of workouts and stick to it. My goal is at least 14 workouts 10 to 12 months to make the annual Committed Club in 2026.

What's your favorite song to work out to? Any song that keeps me distracted from the workout!

What's your favorite restaurant? So many favorites. Yebo Kitchen, Azumi, Ruxton, Houstons, to name a few.

Who's your hero, real-life or fictional? My Dad (RIP).

What does your frequently used emoji tab look like? Michael Moore Emojis

Words to live by or favorite quote? Never stress over anything you have no control over.

What's your favorite travel spot? Carribean Islands

If you could win an Olympic gold medal for any sport, real or fake, what would it be? Track and Field (100M)

What's your hidden talent? Painter, not like an artist! l like painting walls, but just my own!
