It's time to get to know the PUSH511 coaches! First up is Coach Tim, who coaches our group CrossFit classes.
When did you start CrossFit? 2016 I believe.
When did you start coaching at PUSH511? The epic year of 2020.
What is your fitness background outside of CrossFit? Soccer, Martial Arts, Lacrosse, Surfing.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family. Born and raised at the beach in New Jersey. I have an older sister (I’m totally the youngest sibling as if you all couldn’t tell) and am very close with my immediate and extended family. I then came to Towson for school and now have been in Maryland for over 10 years!
Tell us something we don't know about you. I am a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
What is your favorite movement in CrossFit? Anything with a squat (insert peach emoji)
What is your least favorite movement? Deadlift.
When do you normally coach? Afternoons.
Do you prefer working out in the morning, afternoon or evening, and why? Afternoons, let that work stress out!
What is your favorite song to work out to? More genre, a nice mix of metal, ratchet, and a beat.
How has CrossFit affected your life outside the gym? I endured and overcame an emotionally abusive relationship. CrossFit gave me the confidence to get through it, out of it, and over it. Also, abuse is something we need to normalize talking about.
What do you enjoy most about coaching? Seeing members grow and hitting goals. Being a part of their success makes coaching not really a job, rather a privilege.
What’s the next goal you’re looking to achieve as an athlete? Just continual strength gain across the board.
What’s the next goal you’re looking to achieve as a coach? Keep my classes feeling fulfilled each and every day.

What tips would you offer someone who is just getting started with CrossFit? Be patient and ask questions. Simple.
Where is your favorite place to vacation? Oh boy, I would equally say Southeast Asia, Morocco, and Spain.
If you could have any superpower, what would that superpower be and why? Flying…I mean how fun is that!
If you could only watch one show for the rest of your life, what would it be? Bob's Burgers.
If you could have any job in the world, what would it be? Something in international diplomacy.
