Brittany is PUSH511's August CrossFit Member of the Month!
Brittany’s positivity, work ethic, and love for a challenge make her a true standout at PUSH511. She’s made huge strides in her Olympic lifts, embraced new challenges like her first sprint triathlon and a HYROX race, and lifts everyone around her with constant encouragement. This is why the PUSH511 coaches nominated her as Member of the Month:
Brittany brings a fun, positive energy every time she walks into the gym. Her dedication to improving her Olympic lifts has been impressive, and the progress shows—her technique looks like that of someone with much more experience. She works hard, takes feedback with grace, applies it consistently, and never makes excuses. On top of that, she maintains a great attitude and lifts up those around her. Brittany’s recognition as MOTM is well-earned.
Brit always has a smile on her face! She loves trying new things, even if she’s unsure how it will turn out. She’s improved her Oly lifting in the last few years and always takes constructive feedback with ease. She’s pretty quiet, moves well, has a great attitude, and is fun to have in class! Brit is doing her first-ever Sprint Triathlon this month - she’s going to crush it!
Brit is a ball of energy and fun to have in class. She puts in the work every day - especially when she's doing back-to-back class and Bootcamp, and pushing herself to her limits. It's paying off as she continues to get faster and stronger. Outside the gym, she's always taking on new challenges too: HYROX, triathlon, etc. She supports other members and leads by example - a true representation of the PUSH community!
Brittany brings such a positive and uplifting energy to every class. She’s always smiling, cheering others on, and creating a supportive vibe that makes everyone feel welcome. Even during tough workouts, she finds a way to encourage those around her. Her consistency, friendliness, and genuine spirit make her such a valued part of the PUSH community. This recognition is beyond well-deserved!
Brittany has made a lot of progress since starting out with us. It’s been awesome seeing her getting better and better. Also pushing herself in and outside the gym, dipping her toes in other physical challenges, shows that what we do at PUSH works!
When did you start CrossFit? I started CrossFit for the first time at PUSH511 in 2022.
What's your fitness background? I was a club swimmer for about 10 years. I swam from elementary school to high school. My main event was the 500/400 free in high school. When I got to college, I participated in club ultimate frisbee all 4 years.
What’s your favorite CrossFit movement? My favorite CrossFit movement is power cleans!
What’s your least favorite movement? I don’t particularly like the bike. My little legs don’t move so well on it.
What do you do for work? I am an elementary school teacher! I teach 4th grade.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family. I am from New Jersey and grew up 20 minutes from Ocean City, NJ! (The better OC) I went to college in NJ and met my now husband there. We moved to Baltimore in June of 2019 and have lived in the city since! We have a senior cocker spaniel, Charlie who is my mini me. We both love to be lazy at home.
Tell us something we don't know about you! I was in marching band in high school! I don’t think I talk about that much, I was the only piccolo player for my high school's marching band.
How has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym? I feel more comfortable picking up heavy things at the store. But it’s also great that I can confidently put my carry-on luggage in the overhead bin!
What do you enjoy most about PUSH? I love the environment and how welcome I feel there. I am honestly very thankful to all the friends and relationships I’ve made. I couldn’t ask for a better gym to be a member at.
What tips would you offer someone who is just getting started with working out? Even when you don’t feel like showing up, do it! Even if it’s just to move a little bit. You’ll never regret working out afterwards.
What's your favorite song to work out to? Mmmm, I don’t really have a preference for workout music unless it’s like techno. I don’t like that.

Who's your hero, real-life or fictional? Aelin Ashryver Whitethorn Galathynius
What does your frequently used emoji tab look like?
Words to live by or favorite quote? Short-term pain, long-term gain
What's your favorite travel spot? I love visiting San Juan, Puerto Rico.
If you could win an Olympic gold medal for any sport, real or fake, what would it be? I would probably win the title of the worst person to have on your team for trivia night. I don’t really know anything and have terrible memory. But I still love attending trivia night! (Just don’t expect me to answer anything)
What's your hidden talent? I can sleep anywhere and anytime! I’ll take a 4 hour nap, wake up, eat dinner and then be ready for bed.
What are your top five favorite movies? I don’t really watch TV, but can give you some of my top favorite books/series! (Not in any particular order)
