CrossFit Member of the Month: September 2025

Heather is PUSH511's September CrossFit Member of the Month! Since joining PUSH511 in the spring, Heather's already PR’d lifts, shown up for Committed Club every month, and brings an attitude that’s as positive as it is contagious. Her consistency, focus, and energy inspire everyone around her, which is why our coaches nominated her as Member of the Month! This is what our coaches had to say about Heather:

Heather has been awesome since the first day I worked with her. She shows up early, is super coachable, challenges herself and shows up consistently. By doing all the above, she’s PR’d all the lifts that we recently retested. She’s only getting fitter and it’s been awesome seeing how fast she’s been progressing in such a short time.

Heather is a pleasure to coach and fun to workout with. She dove into CrossFit with gusto and has been a Committed Club member every month since joining in March. She is focused and it is definitely showing in her workouts.  I love that Jake truly believes by attending one 7:15 am class with Heather each week, she will reciprocate and attend one of his 6 am classes...not happening.  Keep up the good work Heather!

Heather jumped right into CrossFit and hasn’t looked back! She shows up consistently and gives it her all. Her positive attitude is contagious, and always gives a fist bump in SugarWOD. She’s never afraid to try something new and always welcomes a challenge. Heather truly deserves member of the month!

Now, let's get to know our September Member of the Month!

When did you start CrossFit? March 2025.

What's your fitness background? As a teenager, I did a lot of golf-specific strength and conditioning, but the last decade fitness has been very sporadic for me.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement? Deadlifts.

What’s your least favorite movement? Any cardio.

What do you do for work? I am an Internal Communications Specialist for a national professional services Firm. My team basically bridges the gap between HR and Marketing, and I write a lot of emails trying to politely remind very busy CPAs to complete their compliance trainings.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family. I originally grew up in Dundee, Scotland, then moved to the US in 2014 to play D1 golf at Elon University in North Carolina. At Elon, I met my husband Jake, who was also a golfer, and in 2022, we got married, moved to Baltimore, bought a house, and got a puppy all in the space of a couple of months. We love living in Canton and everything it has to offer. Most weekends, you can find us at the 9:15 class together, getting breakfast at Ovenbird, trying to tire out our German Shepherd Hogan in the park or on a hike, and always stopping at Ellie’s for a couple of drinks at some point. We also love to travel to see friends from college or have them visit us.

Tell us something we don't know about you! I can be very, very competitive.

How has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym? CrossFit has hugely affected my life outside of the gym. I’ve lost a lot of unwanted weight (huge shoutout to Steve Misewich for his nutrition coaching that got me on the right track), which has made me more confident in everything I do. I definitely feel a lot stronger, which makes everyday things such as carrying groceries, picking up big packages, and even carrying laundry up three flights of stairs (rowhome life) much easier. In the past, I spent a lot of time worrying that if something happened to our dog that required him to be picked up, I wouldn’t be able to do it, and now I’m confident that that wouldn’t be a problem. Overall, I’m feeling much healthier and happier, and my competitive streak has a great outlet.

What do you enjoy most about PUSH? The friendly and encouraging culture at PUSH makes it so easy to come back every day. I love the “no man left behind” mindset and that members will hang around and cheer you on until the last person is finished. The coaches are approachable and insightful, and I’ve learned a lot from them.

What tips would you offer someone who is just getting started with working out? Don’t get bogged down by all of the things you can’t do; everything is scalable (I know this first-hand). Just start showing up consistently, and you’ll be surprised to see what you can do six months down the line.

What's your favorite song to work out to? All of the Lights - Kanye

What's your favorite restaurant? Martas

Who's your hero, real-life or fictional? As cheesy as it is, my husband Jake. He has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met or ever will meet, and he is compassionate, intentional, and the greatest friend you’ll ever have. I’m incredibly lucky to have spent a decade of my life with him by my side.

What does your frequently used emoji tab look like? Heather Leavitt Emojis

Words to live by or favorite quote? Nothing worth having comes easy.

What's your favorite travel spot? I’ve only been once but Savannah, GA is a dream.

If you could win an Olympic gold medal for any sport, real or fake, what would it be? Speed reading.

What's your hidden talent? Buying copious amounts of books (while I have an excessively full “to be read shelf”) and successfully hiding them in plain sight where my husband doesn’t notice them for months.

What are your top five favorite movies?

  1. Shutter Island
  2. She's the Man
  3. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  4. The Lovely Bones
  5. The Holiday
